Polarization state dependence of optical parametric processes in artificially gyrotropic media

Abstract

The theory of parametric generation and amplification in artificially gyrotropic (magneto-optic) media is presented. Complete solutions for signal and idler are given in terms of Stokes' parameters, and polarization state dependences of applied static magnetic field strength are discussed in terms of trajectories of the reduced Stokes vector on the Poincare sphere.
